He's pretty much all I've been reading for the past couple of years, though I've gotten into Straub....in case I need a replacement. From a Buick 8......one of his best IMHO.

I just bought that book in hardcover for like 6 bucks at Barnes and Nobles (it was on sale). I accidentally left it in my apt. in TX (now I'm home in NY for the summer) so I won't get to read it til I go back, but that will be perfect since I will be finished with Dark Tower by then. If you haven't read Dark Tower, you really should, it is seriously amazing!

I used to read King's books a lot when I was younger. I thought "The Stand" was the freakiest! I guess I've out grown his kinds of books. I also hate any of his books turned into movies! #12# There just awful!

You should read The Dark Tower (I know I pimp this book like it's my ho) but you could never outgrow that book, it's one of the best ever written in my opinion.

I loved the Dark Tower series, so much going on, so much character. Though, I won't say what...in case, the end I found a little.....meh. Part of me really wants to see it turned into a movie, but.....some movies can make a good book better, others just put a nail in it's coffin.
^^me...I like his later stuff much better than the ones that put him on the map. I've tried reading, Carrie, Christine, Cujo....just can't do it, they're straight out horror. I'll take a Tommyknockers, It, Bag of Bones, Dolores Claiborne...any time over them.

I've heard mixed reviews about the ending, I guess I'll just have to wait and see. I just passed the part where Mia had her baby, oh God.

I'm still wading through the Stand. I've read it before but now I'm reading the Uncut version. I've been reading it all summer (except for a 3-Day Harry Potter break) and I still have over 200 pages to go. After this one I think I need some light chick lit. But I do intend to read the Dark Tower. Star keeps pimping it and all.

I tried starting the Dark Tower series years ago, but couldn't get past the first chapter. I do want to try again one day. I still have a bookshelf full of Stephen Kings books and hate to get rid of them. lostlocke & Star have you read The Eyes of the Dragon and The Talisman that he co-wrote with Peter Staub? Those two l wouldn't classify as his typical horrors like Christine, Carrie & Cujo. I liked both of those.

Eyes of the Dragon was...interesting, not one of my favorites but still good. It just took me a few months to really get into it. The Talisman was good, and alludes to future Dark Tower works. Can I assume you have or will read Balck House then?

I loved the Talisman. I read it years ago, but it has stayed with me. It's one of those books that pops into my mind from time to time.

I've read the non-scary ones! Sometimes he kinda freaks me out ;D but, I loved the Green Mile... I've also read The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordan and Rose Madder
I just never really got into reading his stuff, bc I've always assumed its really scary...
I want to read The Shining...
