Yea, I am evacuating tomorrow, please everyone, keep us all in your prayers or thoughts (if you do not pray or believe in that). I am very scared right now, I have never been through anything like this before. My mom wanted me to come home to NY but I am hesitant to do that not knowing the extent of damage - because school could easily start Monday if nothing is damaged in Houston. Still, if things get bad I will probably end up going back home. But everything is very uncertain and up in the air.
I'm leaving with a couple friends of mine tomorrow to either go north or south depending on the direction of the hurricane - they all have family members in either direction so I will hopefully be okay. I will hopefully be online soon, I am bringing my computer with me, I may even be able to check in with you all before the hurricane hits on Saturday (or Friday night?).
Traffic is backed up though and I just hope it doesn't take too long to get out of Houston tomorrow, everything is just so insane around here. Water and food are pretty much gone from all supermarkets, gas is running out and I've had to pack away most of my stuff into upper cabinets to keep it safe from possible flooding. I am hoping it does not hit Houston and stays away from here, but I cant know for sure so I have to be prepared for the worst.
It is so hard to just pack up and leave all my stuff and what I know as my home here, all I can take with me is my clothes, some shoes, and some food and my computer and my DVD's (I am making sure I take those because I have a fortune spent on them lol).
Bye guys, and hopefully I will talk to you all soon!

Take care Star. I'll be hoping for the best for you. I won't be back here till Tuesday. I have my walk this weekend. Just get out of there and get somewhere safe. I have family in Spring, TX so I'll be thinking of them too.

Seems like the worst of it missed Houston, but there is still damage but its minimal, I am just wondering how my apartment is, if the windows are broke or anything. I'm also a little concerned about looting. We really want to go back to Houston tomorrow but the Mayor is saying not to go back yet, but we really miss our apartment and we called to see if there was any damage but we only got the answering service. We also don't know if there is power where we live or not and I really don't want to go back to the apartment if there is no power because there will be no A/C and it's too hot to live without that.

Yes it does look like Houston weathered well. I'm watching CNN, and heard the mayor say not to come back until tomorrow wasn't it? But you won't have anything, power, or water. Anyone got camping equipment like camp stoves and lamps? Whenever we loose our power around here l always think well at least l got my bbq. Did someone stay behind is that why you called? You'll have to bring back lots of water. Glad your still keeping in contact.

I went back to Houston Sunday and everything was fine. The onyl thing was that a fence that went around the perimeter of the parking lot was blown down and some tree branches were all over the place and the bushes had big holes in them lol. No windows broke or anything to the apartment sot hat was great news. My roomate and I have everything unpacked and put back in place. We didn't have internet when we got back, but it just came up a little while ago tonight. But we were very lucky and I'm very thankful that nothing horrible happened to us or our place.
