Last week I noticed my cat Yuengling was sick (you may know him from my avies at the Fuse). He was being antisocial and was not sleeping in my bed, and was not eating much. I made an appointment with him to go to the vet, but I couldn't get him in until this Tuesday. Friday night I went out with the girls, and I had every intention to come home and check on him, but I got a bit tippsy and crashed at my friends house. I came home Saturday and noticed puss and blood on Yuengling's tail. Then I saw upsatirs where he was sleeping more puss and blood. I called up the vet, and they were closed so I took him to the emergency vet hospital. Turns out he had an abcess that burst. He had problems dating back to at least Thanksgiving based upon the fact that he was shooting. I'm a bad mommy. He was sick since Thanksgiving and I didn't even know it. This is the second time he's been sick in a year. I need to look and see if there are any guides out there that go over pet symptoms to let you know if your pet is sick or not. He's ten years old now and I want him to live for many years to come, but he's already a senior cat.

You're not bad at all. I doubt most people would have noticed something either. Esp since the holidays are so busy and it's not like your cat can tell something is up straight out. At least he's been to a doctor now though! Now he can get better.

Thanks, Pug. Everyone is telling me it's not my fault. I just wish I had taken him sooner. My poor guy. He looks a mess.

Philly,
You aren't bad at all. Just be thankful you noticed and got him to a vet.
