Lots of places. He's on a submarine so they just visit several places on different missions throughout the deployment.

Hmm he must have stories to tell when he returns. Does he phone lots or do they have computers to keep in touch?

He can call when he's in port, which should be around 4 - 5 times over the 6 months. While they are cruising around, they have email, but they have to surface to send/receive messages. While they are actually on missions, there is no communication.
6 months just seems like such a long time right now. I'm sure that, once 1 month passes, I'll start feeling better.

I've only been through 6-week ones before. I remember my first 6-week underway. I thought I was going to go nuts. I guess it was better that I had those experiences. I didn't even cry when he left this time. Oh, and I'm Amish!

Thats a while l bet you have his picture right in sight next to your computer right?? I think thats so sweet when people decorate their work space with pictures of loved ones and pets

No, no pictures. I travel a lot, so I just keep electronic copies of pictures. He told me that he hung pictures of us over his bed on the boat though. ;D
